A Trip West - May 1912, p2

These photographs had no captions in the album, so specifics aren't known.

Any identification is my best guess, including that these are from the same western trip as on "A Trip West - May, 1912, P1".

Possibly is this is "camping" in Yosemite National Park, which was created in 1890 and would be in the same vicinity of the rest of the trip to Salt Lake City and Catalina.

These appear to be taken at the same time as #3 with the cook or man-servant and driver sitting on the porch.

#3 - Probably their driver on left & their man servant /cook in back with Adeline on the right

#4 - Adeline and Lucian with driver

#5 - The man servant / cook; his dress in this photograph suggests he's definitely at least a cook.

Lucian and Adeline

#13 - This appears to be a general touring ride through the park.  My guess is that Adeline and Lucian are the two in the back (note her hat and his flat cap).

I haven't succeeded at identifying the next photographs' locations, although the style of the railroad train station, the type of scenery, and the lake boat all suggest they are taken in some National Park. While the timeline would make it possible these are in Glacier National Park since that was established in 1910, I suspect we are still in Yosemite or possibly Kings Canyon (which at the time would have been General Grant National Park) because of geographical location. I haven't been able to confirm any of those, though, from vintage photographs of those parks.

Though no caption, the railing of the boat is the same as the one in #20 & 21.

In #20, Adeline is second from the right. The woman next to her is the same one in #21 fixing the man's hat, and although the couple isn't specifically identified, my guess is that the couple is Adeline's older sister Francis and her husband Nichols Milbank who lived in Los Angeles. Note the young man in the forefront and his perhaps uncomfortable look at the camera.

I included these into this page about the trip west, although I'm not sure of their location. In #22 and #23, Lucian is on the right, and though unclear, I suspect the woman in these photographs is Adeline. If the photograph are taken in Los Angles, the man with them might be Adeline's brother-in-law Nichols Milbank.
